Cadet Scheme
Our cadet scheme is a unique opportunity for young people to experience Bedfordshire Police It's great preparation for a professional career with us and a fascinating insight into how a modern police service operates. Plus you’ll take recognised qualifications.
Ours is one of only a handful of police services in this country to offer a Volunteer Cadet Scheme aimed at young people aged 16 to 18 years.
Our two cadet groups meet once a week, from 7pm to 10pm, one at Luton Police Station and the other at Bedford Police Headquarters.
If you join us, you will provide vital support to our officers, assisting with events such as the Sonisphere Rock Festival and the Luton Carnival. As a Cadet, you will also complete an NVQ 2 in Public Services.
Recruitment starts in January for cadets to join us in September, in line with the academic year. We have one intake each year.
